Prioritize your wellness.

How much can you pour out of an empty cup? Nothing! This is why you need to prioritize yourself and your wellness before anything else. As a mother, a wife and a business owner I have been tempted so many times to keep going even when I knew I needed to take a break. This could easily lead to burn-outs or even worse – a breakdown. In the event that you do breakdown, who then will be there for the kids, the family, and the business?

Make time everyday for personal meditation and relaxation. I enjoy having me-time early in the mornings before everyone else wakes up. It’s my special time which I use in reflecting, planning, and sometimes making important decisions. I’m especially creative at dawn and since I came to realize this, I set aside mornings for most of my creative work. It is a good idea to identify your special time of day, when you get to have some privacy and the opportunity to create and reflect.

What is most important is to prioritize yourself and your well-being so that those around you can enjoy “drinking from an abundant cup” and not an empty one. Your happiness guarantees that you continue to make everyone else around you happy. So be sure to take those precious moments each day to nurture yourself by doing things you love and enjoying some relaxing “me time” !
